Make a Donation

In honor of our beloved neighbor Pete Frates, Friends of Pete worked with the Beverly City Council to change the name of our neighborhood playground to “Pete’s Park. Changing the name was an exciting first step in a larger vision that will transform the park into something worthy of Pete’s namesake.

The vision is to transform the park into an all-inclusive, multi-use, integrated park that meets the ADA’s (American’s with Disability Act) standards of accessible design.  A park that Pete can visit to watch his daughter Lucy play with his nieces and other neighborhood children.

The people of Beverly feel this would be fitting tribute to Pete and honors his commitment to increase awareness for ALS; and his mission to help raise the funds that will help find a cure. To learn more about Pete, click here – http://www.petefrates.com/

We need your help to make this a reality. There is a non-profit group, Friends of Beverly Parks and Recreation tasked with raising money and designing and executing on the vision to make it a reality.

Those interested in donating should make checks payable to Friends of Beverly Recreation and mail them to Pete’s Park, 13 Middlebury Lane, Beverly, MA 01915.  Checks should be marked as ‘Pete’s Park’ in the memo line.  The Friends of Beverly Recreation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization, so donations are tax deductible.
